Several employees at the Duces Wild, a strip club in Salt Lake City have reported to the police that Josh Powell was at their club the day of Susan Powell’s disappearance, according to a KSL news report Tuesday morning.

After Susan Powell’s disappearance story was reported on the news, several employees at the strip club recognized Josh Powell and remembered that he was in the club the same day that his wife was reported missing. They reported the information to the police who looked into it, but the police said that they could not confirm it was Josh at the club.

Duces Wild employees said that a man who looked like Josh Powell made sexually explicit comments, made advances on women at the club, and was rude to employees at the club.

Employees of the club claim that Josh Powell was there on December 7 from about 2 – 3:30 pm. The children were not dropped off at daycare that day and family members reported the family missing. Josh returned home with his children between 5-6 pm.

Employees at the club state that a man they’ve identified as Powell came in and ordered two beers and a shot. Employees said that his behavior was so bad in the club that people applauded when he left ninety minutes later.

"Yelling out loud, saying weird things," Rydell Mitchell, the club owner said. "He yelled at one of my customers and said, ‘You don't know what it's like -- you don't have any idea what kind of day I've had,'" KSL reported.

ABC4 reported Tuesday morning that friends and family do not believe that Josh Powell was at the strip club, they don’t believe that it sounds like him at all.

It may not sound like him but they have also said since this all has happen he was not acting his self too. I think something has happen to this man.. Was there problems in the relationship? Is it possible he was with another women and to get Susan out of the picture he reacted on his thoughts?

It wouldn't be the first time a parent has left children in the car while they visited a strip club but I do have reservations about him doing this for 90 minutes with no reports of him going out to check on the kids. It seems someone would've seen the children in the car sleeping, IMO, but as Teressa said, his behaviors have changed as stated by many people who know him.

Even if true, does the alleged sighting of Josh Powell in a bar matter?

SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A handful of patrons and even some employees are sure they saw Josh Powell in their bar, Duces Wild, on Monday, December 7th -- the same day it was discovered his wife, Susan Cox Powell, was missing.

West Valley friends of the Powells say it couldn't have been Josh because he doesn't drink.

Either way, what does it matter?

The alleged sighting did not bring Susan Powell home.

As for the legal implications, ABC 4 turned to Daniel Medwed, a law professor at the University of Utah.

If Josh Powell were to ever find himself in court over his wife's disappearance, Professor Medwed said a prosecutor could use the sighting to establish Powell's state of mind. "But more importantly," Professor Medwed said, "It goes to the purported alibi that Mr. Powell has been advancing for months now -- That he was in the west desert with his kids. This directly contradicts that alibi."

However, the professor also noted that a good defense attorney would have little trouble shredding the story of Josh Powell in a strip bar.

The first problem: There is no concrete evidence. The surveillance video recordings at "Duces Wild" recycle every seven days. By the time West Valley police detectives were notified, the pictures from the Monday in question had been erased.

Next problem: There's a conflict with the timeline. The bartender at Duces Wild remembers the man identified as Josh Powell arriving at 2:00 p.m. and staying until 4:30 p.m. But Powell family friend JoVona Owings said she called Josh on his cell phone around 3:00 p.m. She believes during their conversation he was in his car, not a noisy bar. Conclusive? No, but it plants doubt in a juror's mind.

What's more, Profession Medwed said the defense attorney would attack the credibility of the witnesses from the bar. "And you know what? You might have some ammunition to discredit them. They were, after all, in this bar in the middle of the afternoon. That's not going to play well with a Utah jury." In other words, the bar is dark and people are drinking ... You can see where a defense attorney would take those facts.

Even more, he would pound away at the fact that identification of Josh Powell came only days later. Sherman, a bar patron who sat next to the man he says was Josh Powell, remembered, "When I saw his face on TV, I said, 'Where do I know this guy from?' And then it came to me that I knew him from the bar." The defense attorney could call expert witnesses who would testify such an after-the-fact identification was "unconscious transference." Professor Medwed said, "So as soon as the news broke of Susan Powell's disappearance -- ABC 4 News in particular -- it's quite possible that the patrons of the bar kind of conflated their recollection of the event with the higher profile image of the Josh Powell - Susan Powell fiasco and they merged the two."

Such a "tainted" memory, he said, "can easily unravel during a skillful defense attorney's cross examination." ~snipped~

Tainted or not, I find this news compelling.

He could always walk outside to take a phone call. I don't put anything past this man. I'd like to know how far the strip club is from his home cause he didn't arrive home until shortly after 5 PM after receiving that 3 PM phone call.

Is this the same night that he left again and took the boys on a ride? He showed emotional stress at the supposed bar visit at let's say 3 - 4 pm Did he do something before he got the boys and placed her body in the trunk and rode around with it till he got the idea of leaving in the middle of the night when no one could witness what time he left to take that body and drop it off some wheres along the way?

Ive not seen so Im going to ask here.. Have the LE questioned the boys as to where they went? What did they do? Was they ever left in the car whiles Josh went and done something? Do the remember anything about the area they went to that night? Do they remember hearing their parents fight that day? Do they remember stopping on the side of the road on their trip?

SO many questions but yet Susan is still missing and the person responsible is right under their noses. WHAT are they waiting on? For him to get upset at something again and next time it be one of these sweet innocent boys? or even worse both?

I don't know if the boys were officially questioned, but Joshua won't let anyone talk with the boys alone. I don't know if that includes LE.

On the Sunday before the family was reported missing on Monday, JoVona Owings was at the house untangling yarn with Susan and Joshua made dinner for everyone...scrambled eggs. Around 5 PM Susan wasn't feeling well and laid down to take a nap. Owings left just after that but called back to ask if she could drop off the yarn she had untangled for Susan and Josh said Susan wouldn't be using it that night so not to worry.

So, the family was home on that Sunday. Late that night, around midnight, is when Josh stated he took the boys camping and did not return until 5 PM on Monday evening with the boys.

Is it possible Josh left the boys at home sleeping? No one know how long he was really gone from the house. Susan could be close to home and no one has a clue. Jose could of said anything. This man is strange indeed.

That's true. We only have Josh's word for when he left the house. The police busted into the home before Josh got back there so I don't think he left the boys inside.
