Amber DuBois Cold Case and Chelsea King Case Could Be Linked. Last year around this time, a 14 year old girl went missing around Escondido, California. The name of the girl was Amber DuBois. On Thursday, Poway honor student Chelsea King failed to return home after a routine run at a nearby park. Fearing the worst, her parents called the police.

Although Chelsea King has yet to be found, police arrested a suspect in connection with the case. It is believed that 30 year old registered sex offender John Albert Gardner could be linked to the disappearance of both girls.

It’s also believed that Gardner could have been involved in a December attack on a woman running in the same park where Chelsea King went missing. The suspect will not cooperate with police and is being held pending investigation for murder and rape.

Amber DuBois went missing from Escondido High School on February 13, 2009. No one has seen or heard from her since. Gardner was arrested yesterday afternoon at a restaurant in Escondido.

In 2000, Gardner plead guilty to tow counts of forcible lewd act on a child and was sentenced to six years in prison.

Everyone is still hoping that Chelsea King will be found alive. Everyone hopes that Amber DuBois is still alive as well. Police are working tirelessly alongside federal law enforcement trying to sort through the various details of the case.
