Morgan Renee Schug may be in extreme danger

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) - Police are on the lookout for a missing Battle Creek teenager who they say is in extreme danger.

The missing teen is Morgan Renee Schug. Police described her as a white female, 14 years old, 5'1" tall and 160 pounds.

She has brown eyes and brown hair.

She was last seen talking to an unknown male, possibly in his mid-30s, in a white mid-90s Pontiac Bonneville near W. Michigan Avenue and Dunning Avenue in Battle Creek at around 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Schug was last seen wearing a Detroit Red Wings jacket, blue jeans, and black tennis shoes.

Police say she is in extreme danger. Her mother told police Morgan has the mental capacity of a second- or third-grader.

Anyone with any information on Morgan Renee Schug, her possible abductor, or the suspected vehicle is urged to call local law enforcement, 911, or the Battle Creek Police Department immediately.

Morgan safe after Amber Alert

A Battle Creek teenager was found safe Thursday morning after an Amber Alert was issued a day earlier.

Morgan Renee Schug, 14, was last seen talking to a man in a car near W. Michigan Avenue and Dunning Avenue in Battle Creek about 5 p.m. Wednesday. Morgan's mother told police her daughter has the mental capacity of a second- or third-grader.

Morgan was located about 9:45 a.m. Thursday, according to police. Her parents told 24 Hour News 8 she was found in the apartment of the suspect whose name has not been released yet.

That man has a "checkered past," police say.

Authorities issued the Amber Alert so Morgan, who was believed to be in extreme danger, could be found quickly. Police in Battle Creek worked with the FBI and the Center for Missing and Exploited Children during the search..

Morgan's parents said they were told their daughter was found safe after the media were notified. The parents said they didn't get to see her until noon.

The girl was taken to a hospital for unspoken reasons, according to police.
